Brewer Arnoult is a singer, conductor, arranger, guitarist, and budding organist whose work bridges sacred and secular traditions with poise and depth. Known for promoting high-church sacred music and tasteful, contemplative artistry, Brewer brings a thoughtful approach to every performance and classroom. He is prompt to serve, yet equally values the quieter rhythms of life -reading, conversation, and reflective musical practice.
As a performer, Brewer's versatility spans from jazz to chant. He began his career as guitarist and arranger for The New Magnolias in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, a jazz fusion combo known for its creative reinterpretations of classic standards. His collaborative spirit later found a home in diverse settings-singing and accompanying Broadway, barbershop, and classic popular tunes with pianist Dr. Tusa, and leading sacred ensembles throughout Louisiana and Mississippi.
Brewer has served as cantor, conductor, and director for several parishes, including Our Lady of the Gulf in Bay St. Louis, where he led a mixed SATB choir in Latin polyphony and trained others in Gregorian chant, and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Latin Mass Community in Covington, where he directed both a women's choir and a men's schola. He currently serves as cantor and organist at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Orleans, and is also a frequent cantor for hire at St. Patrick's Church.
An experienced educator, Brewer taught Ear Training, Class Guitar, and assisted in Music Theory instruction as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he also earned his Master of Music in Theory and Composition. His thesis, Musical-Personal Alignment: The Correlation of Stylistic Approaches and Personal Values in the Life of Arvo Pärt, explores the deep intersection between music and moral philosophy. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance from William Carey University, where he was awarded first place in Classical Guitar Performance at the 2016 Mississippi Guitar Festival.
Beyond academia, Brewer spent formative years at Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary in Nebraska, immersed in the study of Latin, Thomistic philosophy, and the sung Divine Office —an
experience that profoundly shaped his musical and spiritual perspective.
Whether teaching at the Music Room - Gulfport, accompanying a Mass, or arranging a jazz standard, Brewer Arnoult's artistry reflects a balance of intellect, devotion, and grace —an
invitation to listen deeply, think clearly, and live beautifully through music.
